Bayer has just purchased Monsanto for 62.5 billion dollars, cementing one of the most unholy business marriages of all time. The two companies are equally yoked with a history of evil and self-serving business practices are concerned, and it’s important for the public to know what this massive business merger means.

The Bride

Monsanto is the company that is responsible for creating and marketing products like genetically modified BT corn (corn plants with built-in pesticide genes spliced into their DNA) and “Round-up ready” GMOs—plants that are engineered to resist the herbicide Roundup so that fields can be saturated with chemicals that kill weeds, but not the modified crops. Rather than increase crop yields as promised, GMOs have increased the use of herbicides and caused an alarming outbreak of herbicide-resistant “superweeds”.

Despite claims to the contrary, glyphosate (the active ingredient in Roundup) has been shown to cause cancer and other illnesses. GMO crops in India and Central America have caused a deadly epidemic of kidney disease in those countries, and health in America has plummeted alongside the rise of GMO products.

Monsanto has become well-known as a company that falsifies documents, lies to the public, strong-arms farms and businesses into buying their products, and covers up wrongdoing. They have been sued many times, and are currently facing a very large lawsuit involving thousands of people with claims that they have cancer caused by Monsanto’s “safe” herbicides.

The Groom

Bayer has been a household name for generations, but many people are unaware of its sordid history. This company began in Germany under the name of I.G. Farben. In lawsuits, I.G. Farben has been accused of crimes against humanity during World War II—when the effectiveness of their pharmaceuticals was tested on Jewish people who were kidnapped, enslaved, or purchased to use as “human guinea pigs”.

Bayer admits to using slave labor, although it has done its best to minimalize its connection to I.G. Farben. And it’s no wonder they would rather people be unaware of their roots—I.G. Farben was the company that developed  Zyklon B…the poisonous gas used to kill millions of Jews in gas chambers during WWII.

A Match Made in Hell

Monsanto has its own ugly little toxic secret: Agent Orange. Monsanto created this chemical for use in warfare during the Vietnam war, and it was sprayed in large amounts (some 12 million gallons) to kill foliage in South Vietnam. Although not meant to be a toxin to humans, Monsanto’s product proved to be a powerful teratogen—sickening millions and causing horrific birth defects that continue to be a problem even in the children and grandchildren of those exposed. Many children in Vietnam today lie dying in orphanages due to disabilities caused by the toxin, and in America veterans of the Vietnam war and their descendants suffer from a long list of hundreds of health problems associated with Agent Orange exposure.

These two massive companies deserve to be tried for crimes against humanity, rather than be allowed to team up. By distancing themselves from their histories and covering up their wrongdoing, they have managed to continue to do billions of dollars of business despite the damage they’ve done to society.

Bayer has announced that once the purchase is complete, the name “Monsanto” will disappear. In this way, I.G. Farben and Monsanto will quietly blend into one “family” name…and Bayer will hide two companies with a horrible history. They will continue to benefit from their terrible past, building on a history of building a financial empire by taking advantage of the very people they claim to help—and then refusing to take responsibility for the damages they do.

An Uncertain Future for the Rest of Us

This new union will come with a special bonus: Monsanto is facing a huge number of serious lawsuits in the near future that could do real damage to the company. Now, they will have the added money and corporate backing of Bayer—and, with a name change, the hope that the public will soon forget who is responsible for the tainting of our entire food chain and the epidemic of autoimmune illness that is sickening people at unheard of rates.

This union will close a perfect vicious cycle that Monsanto alone couldn’t quite complete: Monsanto’s GMOs require Monsanto’s herbicides to grow; Monsanto’s herbicides cause resistant weeds that require more herbicides to eradicate; these herbicides cause diseases in everyone who consumes GMO products. Now, Bayer’s drugs can be prescribed for the ailments that Monsanto’s products cause—keeping the cycle of toxic chemicals and high-priced drugs all in the same family.

The losers in all of this? Clearly, everyone but Monsanto and Bayer.

By allowing this to take place, the Department of Justice has created the world’s largest seed and chemical company—a company that will control 77% of all seed corn and 58-97% of all cotton, soybean, and canola markets. This promises to be more expensive for farmers and to make it much more difficult for the public to have choices as to how their food is grown.

Please, share this article and let others know what is happening. If the public is aware of the merger, they will know to watch Bayer carefully and to take the steps needed to be informed about where their food is coming from and who is benefitting from it.

This entry is part 2 of 4 in the series Pecuniary Greed

Glyphosate_USA_2013

Yesterday I published the first part in the Series Pecuniary Greed and since I used Steve’s article for a jumping point I sent an email to him, as I always do those when I mention or write about something they did or say should they wish to provide any form of “rebuttal” for lack of a better word.

Over the years I have learned that when you deliver commentary that is very pointed, direct and to the heart of a matter people tend to feel they are being yelled at, attacked, verbally accosted, insulted, and I do admit I can be pretty vitriol. It’s funny when addressing Pecuniary Greed how one can say most anything and be your friend until they tell the truth then you become an descriptive adjective related to a part of your anatomy. When that happens I…well I wear it as a badge of honor that I’m able to piss folks off when spitting out the truth. Last evening I received an email from Steven. Steven used the term “undeserved hate”. Here is his statement…

Aaron,

I’ll have to think about whether I’m willing to even look at your post.  I normally have a very thick skin and don’t let the comments get to me, but your stuff made me seriously question why I do what I do – whether it is worth it to take the undeserved hate.

I appreciate you saying you were not trying to insult me, and so I can forgive that.

You are safe on the Non-GMO hops because your side has completely dominated so far .  Even crops where a GMO solution makes perfect sense will probably never happen. I’ve seen dozens of examples of that. There is no way that anyone would even contemplate the investment and marketing risk to develop GMO hops.  Perhaps you have suggestions for how to help those farmers deal with their considerable disease issues.

The commentary on the hops was in reference to my statement…I’m sure our paths will cross in cyberland on this issue again…who knows perhaps one our paths will cross and we can have a beer while discussing the issues…No GMO hops beer that is…

While I’m glad Steven took pause to think about what he does and says…IMHO it was for the wrong reason, however, no matter what has been said about me no one has ever said I’m not fair. That said,  let’s get into what this chemical Glyphosate is…Perhaps that will help us to understand the Pecuniary Greed that Glyphosate has created. Remember it was only one chemical that gave us Refer Madness folks.

 Glyphosate is a noun for a chemical and is defined as;

(N-(phosphonomethyl)glycine) is a broad-spectrum systemic herbicide and crop desiccant. It is an organophosphorus compound, specifically a phosphonate. It is used to kill weeds, especially annual broadleaf weeds and grasses that compete with crops.

So to truly understand what Glyphosate is allow me to go a step further. I have taken the liberty to highlight a couple words in the definition since I’m not as educated as someone like Steven, no I must admit my science studies have only included landscaping type of botany courses, soil classes put on by cooperative extensions education on soil conditions, and I guess if I was to say I’m a “master gardener” my training started when I was four and I asked my father how to grow pumpkins because I thought they were cool…

The next day my father took me to the store bought me a package of seeds, even back then there were 5 different types of pumpkins I could grow..I wanted to grow the biggest pumpkin in the world. My father took me home and showed me how to plant them then he started my agriculture education. He taught me about the bugs, the critters, how to make the dirt better, how often to water without wasting said water. All this was done without any type of chemical. The first “prize pumpkin” I grew was 78 pounds, amazing as I only used water and horse poop.

Just for the record a Master Gardener is defined as:

Master Gardener programs (also known as Extension Master Gardener Programs) are volunteer programs that train individuals in the science and art of gardening. These individuals pass on the information they learned during their training, as volunteers who advise and educate the public on gardening and horticulture.

OK before I get too misty eyed here this morning let’s get back to the Pecuniary Greed created by  Glyphosate and what it is.

The first phrase of the definition that we need to understand

  • broad-spectrum systemic

  • An insecticide is a substance used to kill insects. They include ovicides and larvicides used … They are broadspectrum systemic insecticides, with rapid action (minutes-hours). They are applied as sprays, drenches, seed and soil treatments.

Again in defining this term we come to a words that calls for pause…

Ovicide may refer to: Insecticides that are designed to kill eggs… A larvicide (alternatively larvacide) is an insecticide that is specifically targeted against the larval life stage of an insect. Their most common use is against mosquitoes. Larvacides may be contact poisons, stomach poisons, growth regulators, or (increasingly) biological control agents.

This sort of caught me off guard as Glyphosate has been classified as an Herbicide.

The next word for us simpletons is Desicant

  • desiccant. des·ic·cant

  • ˈdesəkənt/

  • noun

  • noun: desiccant; plural noun: desiccants

  • a hygroscopic substance used as a drying agent.

Well I guess we now know why Glyphosate has become part of the “Harvesting Process” in many grains that our breakfast cereals are made with and we now have a gluten issues in our foods??? Just guessing here folks I’m not a biologist…just pretending to be this morning.

The next term up is; Organophosphorus

Organophosphorus

  • or·ga·no·phos·pho·rus

ˌôrɡənəˈfäsf(ə)rəs,ôrˌɡanōˈ-/

noun

adjective: organophosphorus

  • denoting synthetic organic compounds containing phosphorus, especially pesticides and nerve gases of this kind.

Now here is another term that needs addressing;

Synthetic Organic Chemicals (SOCs) are organic (carbon based) chemicals that are less volatile than VOLATILE ORGANIC COMPOUNDS. SOCs are used as pesticides, defoliants, fuel additives and as ingredients for other organic compunds. They are all man made and do not naturally occur in the environment.

OK man made…do not occur naturally???

phosphonate

  • phosphonates and phosphonic acids are organophosphorus compounds containing C−PO(OH)2 or C−PO(OR)2 groups (where R = alkyl, aryl). Phosphonic acids and phosphonate salts are typically white, nonvolatile solids that are poorly soluble in organic solvents, but soluble in water and common alcohols. Many commercially important compounds are phosphonates, including glyphosate, the herbicide “Roundup”, and ethephon, a widely used plant growth regulator. Bisphosphonates are popular drugs for treatment of osteoporosis.[1]

AWWWWWEEEEE here the definition actually includes the product name Round UP.

So let me see if I can put this into terms that all of us non biologically educated people can understand.

Glyphosate is a man made insecticide drying agent with compounds that are not found naturally in our environment that is used to kill weeds. Mmmmmmmmmm Now there’s food for thought. About now you may be asking the same thing I am. Why was this substance Glyphosate created??

You really need to watch this video…

So there you have the reality..Glyphosate Modified Organisms…and what we have is a product with a side effect. Only this product/poison was allowed into our food supply virtually unchecked. Now we have so many health issues that have never been around. Could it be that..especially since urine tests are testing positive for GLYPHOSATE…the health issues are related to our bodies not having the proper amounts of metal trace elements??

So I have to go back to Steven’s comment about “Undeserved Hate” Personally I do not hate Steven I don’t even know the guy. However, after the article that he wrote that basically substantiates the “Substantially Equivalent” Theory that Micheal Taylor gave us 25 years ago. I feel safe in saying that Steven has been compensated enough over the many years that he has been involved in the Biotech Industry to actually believe the drivel that “selective breeding” is the same as Genetically Engineering a plant to withstand a single chemical that is actually poison.

I mean it does KILL weeds and bugs doesn’t it? It’s classification is as an herbicide, by now I believe that we all know anything ending with “cide” means “killing”…here is the definition of the suffex “cide”

  • -cide

combining form

suffix: -cide

  • 1.
    • denoting a person or substance that kills.

“insecticide”

  • 2.

denoting an act of killing.

“homicide”

Now not sure you believe the first video??? Watch this one by Dr.Edward F Group.

Now today’s entries in commentary come from Disquis, you can read the article and commentary here

Again IMHO an industry article but none the less…Gotta love Joe Farmer, a scared gutless individual with an extremely confrontational personality with his/herself, (as this is a shadow profile), claiming that if he/she uses their real name in the discussion there will be repercussions via “crazed activists” something that has never been  recorded. An “Agriculture Creationist” as he has referred to us Non-GMO folks…here is some of Joe farmers comments…you be the judge…

 Aaron Aveiro to JoeFarmer

Please tell me you’re not ProGMO Mr/. Farmer…is that your real name or are you part of the Monsanto Propaganda Machine????

JoeFarmer to Aaron Aveiro

I’m pro agricultural technology. Ag biotech included.

And you’re little backhanded shill accusation reveals that you have no ag knowledge. Thanks for playing.

So we’re playing now???

Aaron Aveiro to JoeFarmer

Actually I believe that under the 10th amendment Vermont can appeal this law….

JoeFarmer to Aaron Aveiro

It’s not a law yet, champ. Besides, I seriously doubt you’ve got the legal knowledge to even begin to comment intelligently. But thanks anyway.

Obviously Gutless Joe doesn’t, know that I have aced every Constitutional Law exam without even opening a book…(Just a side note here..that is what being an American is about, understanding our Constitution, why it is no longer taught as part of 8th grade Civics classes is beyond me?) But hey Gutless Joe is on top of things or is he/she??

Hang on it gets better

JoeFarmer to Aaron Aveiro

Too bad, cupcake.

I guess you’re another of those agricultural creationists that’s upset that you’re not getting your way.

Aaron Aveiro to JoeFarmer

just a PS…evolution pal evolution….that is what I believe….Love the new term the Monsanto Propaganda Machine has come up with…”Agriculture Creationist”…

Aaron Aveiro to JoeFarmer

Please do not refer to me in affectionate terms like “cupcake” it’s offensive and I believe people like you call that sexual harassment…in you convoluted world that creates such a dichotomy for your personal identity. Please just stay in your safe place. If you had any character or moral compass you would use you real name. What’s the matter you embarrassed about you name?

JoeFarmer to Aaron Aveiro

Boo hoo. I’m not about to use my real name on here and have my family or my farm endangered by deranged activists.

I’m sure that by now you have seen that Gutless Joe is the deranged one as there has never been a single incident of an “activist” causing damage to a family or farm because of their position in a social media platform. The only “deranged activists” that I am familiar with are the Anti-Abortionists” that go out and kill people for…as they put it…killing a baby. So on behalf of all of the Anti-GMO activists we are offended Gutless Joe that you would place us in that category you politically incorrect slithering on the ground piece of snake poop.

I believe by now many of understand that all this GMO stuff are really products to withstand Glyphosate. A chemical engineered to combat a reaction called chelating when metal is exposed to water over periods of time. Now according to Gutless Joe Monsanto doesn’t even sell the most Glyphosate in the world…

JoeFarmer

“You do realize all the miss direction is to accomplish one this and one thing only…sell Glyphosate”….THIS WAS PART OF A STATEMENT I MADE

Hilarious. Apparently you don’t realize that Monsanto’s patent on glyphosate expired in 2000 (ya, 16 years ago) and that the Chinese are the world’s biggest supplier now!

Thanks for playing, though.

2016-06-26 06_47_54-Greenshot

I believe this slide says different. However, for just one second, let’s say China is producing and selling more Glyphosate than Monsanto. Then why is Monsanto spending Billions to protect and deceive and sell the product? Because they bring back TRILLIONS???? Just thinking out loud.

In closing this edition of Whom do Your Elected Official Represent…Pecuniary Greed. I can’t understand nor can I wrap my head around the fact that Steven Savage feels that my commentary is “Undeserved Hate” or that anyone else’s comments would be Hate. Could it be that after all the smoke and mirrors combined with all the dog and pony shows, the Sheeple have awoke and figured out the ruse???
